Flaky..

Yes, I know!  I've been incredibly flaky of late.  I've had a few issues at home to deal through and with Christmas and holidays etc the blog has taken a bit of a back seat.  Anyway, New Year and a resolution to be slightly more productive!

Firstly, I stumbled on this last night....

Fame at last!  I have lost count of the number of websites like Pinterest and Tumblr I have seen my work on, annoyingly the Potter nails were amongst the first I completed so I didn't watermark them anywhere near as well as I should have and helpfully MSN cropped out my credit.  Oh well, WE know who's work it is don't we?

I've started playing around with some new designs today, Easter Eggs and chicks will be arriving soo, along with Smaug and Bees, but in the meantime I'll leave you with a prototype Batman thumb nail ;)

Harry Potter Nail Art revisited

Some of you will no doubt remember this:

I've been amazed to find that on Tumblr, various Harry Potter Websites, Facebook, even Japanese websites.  Some sites questioned why there were 2 Rons!  This was a request initially by my daughter who just loves Fred and George Weasley, so my original piece features the pair rather than my initial drawings which had Ron and Hermione.  

I've recreated the work for Esty, only this time it does have Hermione and Ron!

These were created with a mixture of nail polish and Acrylic paint and sealed with several top coats.

Harry Potter Nail Art

About 2 months ago I had an idea for a set of really geeky nails featuring my daughters favourite potter characters Fred & George Weasley.  I got as far as starting to paint them, then went a bit wrong, lost patience and forgot about it.
Tonight I decided to try again....

We have 'HP' on the thumb nails, followed by, left to right: Draco, Fred Weasley, George Weasley and Harry on the pinky.  

They were done with a base coat of cheap Aldi french manicure for the faces and an Asda Grey colour for the jumpers.  The thumbs feature a coat of NYC's Silver Glitter just for a bit of added sparkle.  The rest was patience and acrylic paints.

I love doing things like this, I just wish I could do them on my own hands!
