Day 3 - Yellow Nails

Yellow is not a colour I buy I have to be honest, I did have a yellow varnish lurking at the back of my nail box but its incredibly old and quite gloopy.  Nonetheless, I did make the effort, I thinned it a little with some acetone polish remover and just managed to work it enough to get the job done.

A bizzy bumble bee!  Can't see me sticking with this for very long to be honest.  It's not a colour I like especially (as told from the state of the bottle of Polish!), I much prefer a pastel yellow, but, if its yellow day then it has to be bright!

Day 2: Orange RAAARRR!!!

Patience isn't my thing, whilst most of the girls I'm doing this challenge with are working weekly and 'when they get chance', today I got a rare half hour and an idea...

After buying some stamping plates and noticing an animal stripe I just had to try tiger nails!  I used a base coat of Orange NYC Spring Street and then added a few sponged highlights of an old, half dried up yellow I had kicking around at the back of the nail box.  I don't yet have any true 'stamping polishes' so the black is a basic black Rimmel.  I can't help but think that a stamping black may be much brighter than the Rimmel.  Hopefully I'll find out soon!

Finally I added the stripes using a Konad M69 copy from Born Pretty which cost me a bargain $2.50 delivered.

Rarrrr Tigers!!!!!

Day 1: Red Nails Continued...

I mentioned the nail challenge to my daughter who instantly said "Can I join in!!".  I was secretly rather pleased because I much prefer to paint someone else's nails than my own, so here is Eleanor's effort for 'Red Day'.

As its Wimbledon week I thought Strawberries (with a cream accent nail).

Day 1 - Red Nails

This one was always going to be a bit iffy for me.  I love red, its probably my favourite colour but I hate red nails.  Other people seem to be able to pull it off with ease, me? I end up with a mess of colour that refuses to move off the end of my fingers.

With that in mind I cheated just a little....

Red stamped french tips count, dont they?  I was quite pleased with them actually, especially as this was my first real attempt at stamping.

Bring on the Orange!

Nail Challenge!

I think this is supposed to be done daily, but as I don't always have the time i'll have ti get around to it when I can.

There is so much on there I'm looking forward to and so much I'm not....my last attempt at water marbling ended up with the dog fleeing the room in terror!
