Of course, Sheldon simply had to be wearing a Green Lantern shirt ;) The first versions of this had 'Bazinga' on the thumbs, but the difficulties in painting yellow over red and getting them to show up at such a small size proved a little too much so soft kitty made her appearance instead.

The Nail Polish Hypothesis
One of my favourite TV Shows has to be The Big Bang Theory, I can't believe it's taken me so long to do a BBT themed Mani but it's been on my list (along with Suits and Mad Men) for some time. Having four main protagonists meant that this mani was crying out to be a 'little people' make, so here are Sheldon, Leonard, Raj and Howard complete with Soft Kitty on the thumbs :)

Prince Charming - Adam Ant nail art
Last week a song popped into my head, a song I don't recall hearing since 1983, Adam Ant - Apollo 9. I spent most of the weekend singing it and spurred on I started to listen to the old albums I'd loved so much as a young girl.
The effect of this was that I caught my 15 year old daughter happily listening to the Kings of The Wild Frontier album and absolutely loving it! When she suggested that Adam Ant nails would look quite good I had to agree. Adams style was so unique that he would make great nail art and this was the result...
The nails feature OPI Gold Crackle over a base of Barry M Black. Adam himself and the very small Ant Logo are done with acrylic paint.

Narrowboat Art Nails
Whilst I was browsing my Bloglovin feed this morning I came across this really pretty manicure by Robin Moses Nail Art featuring beautiful snow white daisies. The more I admired them the more they reminded me of 'Narrowboat Art'. For my Non UK readers this is a style of painting adopted in the 19th Century when boat owners painted roses and castles on their boats. As the popularity of canals here dwindled the art faded somewhat though it's recently had a bit of a revival.
I love the style, and it's something thats so simple to do but looks incredibly effective, admittedly its a little trickier to work on something as small as a fingernail but I am pleased with how this turned out. Thanks again to Robin for the inspiration!

Who ya gonna call?
As I kid I had a few movies which I loved, Highlander was my all time favourite, St Elmo's Fire, The Lost Boys, Pretty in Pink and the amazing Ghostbusters.
I was quite gutted actually as I'd reached an age where I was deemed too old for toys so I missed out on the brilliant toy range that was produced on the back of the movie.
Anyway, it occurred to me that the Ghostbusters would make a fantastic manicure so I got my paints, my bottle of OPI on Stranger Tides which I've never been impressed with the colour of and I created our 4 heroes.

I especially love Venkman, but then again I loved him in the movie. Nerds rock, even on nail art!

What makes you beautiful....
My daughter has been nagging for a while for One Direction nails, not something I'd usually do but well, why not...
Here we have Harry on the thumb, wearing his Pink Floyd T Shirt, Zayn, Liam in a 1D T Shirt, Niall and Louis on the little finger.
These were created with nail polish and acrylic and will be available to buy in my etsy shop shortly!

Paint the roses
I love Cath Kidston fabric, it's so pretty and so girly (something I really aren't in real life so it's a bit strange that I'm so attracted to it!). One thing I've coveted for a while is a rose covered Cath Kidston oilskin satchel but to be honest I have so many handbags (certified Radley addict here) that I think one more may push my poor long suffering husband over the edge.
I decided to try and recreate the pattern of Provence Rose fabric by Cath Kidston, and this is the result.
The beautiful base coat is Models Own Jade Stone, a gorgeous colour which I'm sad to say I have completely overlooked in my collection. The white accents and roses are all acrylic paint.

There's children throwing snowballs Instead of throwing heads They're busy building toys And absolutely no one's dead
I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, it's one of my favourite autumn movies. I love this time of year, Halloween, red leaves, birthdays, Christmas. I'm very much an Autumnal/Winter person.
With Halloween around the corner I decided to start playing around with some designs for the 31st, so I give you my Nightmare Before Christmas set:

All that is gold does not glitter...
I'm actually slightly surprised given my obsession with The Lord of The Rings that its taken me this long to make up a proper set of nails!
Anyway, I give you The Hobbits and the ring!

Superhero Nail Art take two
The last in todays trio, this will also feature in my Etsy store:
This time I have included the extra sized thumbs. We have The Thing, Hulk, Thor, Green Lantern, Superman, Fantastic 4, Batman, Spiderman, Iron Man, Wonder woman, The Flash, Captain America.
These were created with a mixture of nail polish and Acrylic paints and sealed with several top coats.
Harry Potter Nail Art revisited
Some of you will no doubt remember this:
I've been amazed to find that on Tumblr, various Harry Potter Websites, Facebook, even Japanese websites. Some sites questioned why there were 2 Rons! This was a request initially by my daughter who just loves Fred and George Weasley, so my original piece features the pair rather than my initial drawings which had Ron and Hermione.
I've recreated the work for Esty, only this time it does have Hermione and Ron!

Dr Who Nail art
This is going to be one of three posts today with three manicures that I'm about to debut on Etsy!
Firstly, may I introduce, The Doctor!

Cyberman, The Doctor, Amy Pond (In Police uniform) Rory and the Tardis. Like my previous Harry Potter manicure these are designed to 'fit together' when you put your hands together giving a very unique and unusual look for your fingers.

Superhero Nail Art
I'm a huge fan of Comic Books and have a big collection, it was great that my teenager daughter, on the back of The Avengers movie, finally began to see things my way and started to read them.
She asked me for Superhero Nail Art and well, I couldn't resist.

Left to Right:

This was done with a clear basecoat, Acrylic paint detailing and a clear topcoat. It was surprisingly quick and simple and she loved it!

Quick fix
I thought you'd like to see a superquick manicure that can be all done and dusted in 5 minutes. Daisies!
Base coat is Rimmel Grey Matter. This is a 60 second coat so dries superquick, it's also a very deep polish which happily only needs one coat. Daisies are a simple white and yellow acrylic paint applied with a single sized dotting tool. Don't have a dotting tool? Make your own, its easy... DIY Nail Dotting tool
I love this mani, its super simple, incredibly quick and looks great with all colours!
